A growing trend in the cosplay underworld are steampunk fashion shows.  In the backwater town of Idaho Falls, Idaho there is the biggest population of steampunk fans(about 60,000 or so) in one conglomerate gathering(although most don't even know this).  Recently to celebrate this revelation, a steampunk fashion show was created and displayed on a seventy yard plank that went out most of the Snake River.  Models dressed in steampunk garb like tight corsets, long dresses, and leather welding gloves, goggles and bombers jackets reminded those that London Victoria has taken the western fashion world.

If you want to put on your own steam punk fashion show, than here are some tips that we learned from our largest steampunk show ever put on.

First, you must hire models.  Now, don't go out and get the skinny anorexic women you see at the other fashion shows.  You want all body shapes, and with the men you want models that look like they come right out of a Norman Rockwell painting, but you also want some ugly mugs, bikers, and the like.

Next, you need to find a venue to display the clothing.  We found a plank across the river downtown made the perfect situation.  The plank reminded people of pirates and required boats or airships for the paparazzi to take their photos of the models.

You will need to make custom clothing, but can also purchase clothes online, at vintage and thrift shops, and find artists to make custom clothing.  This will be the most time consuming part.

Once the event comes make sure there is plenty of wine, lager, and cigarillos.  Live music is a must.

This is just a brief article of what you can do to create a wonderful fashion show for the many fans of steampunk.  Even if it is not perfect, making up for the event with plenty of alcoholic beverages will more than compensate for the fallacies that might occur.
