The process of attaching crystals and metal together is simple.  Doing this process can make beautiful steampunk style jewelry and props.  You can not fuse them together but using these simple hints  will make beautiful jewelry.

The materials you will need are metal that is bendable, a drill and of course a swarovsky crystal.  Other materials you might need are super glue,  leather,  brass or psuedo brass, polymer clay and paints.

What you want to do is get your base creation.  Are you making a wallet, a watch, ring or necklace.  Once you have decided decide on the materials you need and put it together(this goes beyond the scope of this tutorial).  Once you are ready to add the crystal there are simple ways to do it.  If you have a metal base you can weld metal wire to it that will act as a holder of the crystal.  Then you can hold it together by drilling a hole through the crystal and stringing the wire through it.  Be creative!  You can wrap the wire around the crystal in an interesting pattern or do other things.  Another simple step is to just super glue the crystal on.  The glue will be hidden, and the crystal will stay for years and no one will know the difference.

The last alternative you can do is encase the swarovski crystal in polymer clay.  Use a heating gun to harden the clay rather than baking in the oven.  Then you can paint the design in a steam punk style, or whatever style you wish.
